  Actually, TruthSets, MJ was quite a consistent presence at meetings, assemblies and when possible, in the field. It was a huge part of his itinerary and he carried the experience through his last days. Some were there there. We know the entire story.

  I remember those first weeks in 1982-1983 when we tried to slog through those new songs. In fact, you were the pianist for at least three months strraight as we tried our best to sing incredibly difficult melodies! Funny yet painful too. But mostly funny!

  magazine (or possibly it was even the watchtower) once endorsed this story about the "haunted house" of actress elke sommers.. here is essentially all of the information to found on the internet concerning the house.. .

  "actress elke sommers and her husband joe hyam witnessed supernatural phenomena in the dining room of their north berverly hills home from 1964 to 1968. the apparition of a middle-aged man wearing a white shirt and tie was seen by guests on five separate occasions.

  this was the title on an article in the watchtower 1987 9/1, pages 12-15. this article should scare any employer that do have employees that are jehovah's witnesses.

  My comment is how this is simply one more example of how self serving and controlling it all is. This from someone who actually still has love in his heart for those he left behind.

  Education Bias And Favortism Within Witness Ranks

  let me just say from the beginning i am not a bitter ex jehovah's witness.

  i am simply a kid from back in the 70's - 80's who was completely enmeshed in it, leaving in 1984 after a sham marriage rushed by social and peer pressure within a congregation.

  it took two years of a horrible personal relationship to accept that for 20 years i was misled.

  I found out about it from conversation with a district overseer in L.A. who just casually mentioned how computer technologies were important and some young people were being sent for higher education (this was in the 80's mind you). Ever since then it has made perfect sense to me, once I got over it. As a growth business, the organization would certainly do this to protect its interests. It never occured to me in youth this would even be possible.

  do you believe that the jw factor in michael jackson's life contributed in any way to him being a misfit of sorts?.

  i'm wouldn't describe myself as a fan of his, but sometimes i just feel so sorry for the poor guy.. and now it's even worse!

  he's responsible for children who're probably thinking that it's everyone else who's weird!

  Every element of his life is influenced by his childhood effort to be a good JW. I know, not only was I there with him in L.A. during the entire episode but have seen the same things everyone else has:

  Neverland: Come on now. Is this not a carbon copy of all the illustrations in Paradise Found/Paradise Lost?

  Abuse By Joe Jackson: So typical, so criminal in almost all JW households in the 70's.

  Talent: Creativity and youth overcoming harsh reality of existence as a JW.

  I have checked out the various MJ threads and can tell you from first hand experience and as a major JW from back in the day, his struggles and dreams are 100% tied to being a Jehovah's Witness.

  And yes, he disassociated himself after the Thriller video came out.

  Bethel/Headquarters sending particular kids to college while preaching in congregations about not pursuing higher education.

  Negotiating punishment among particular people of perceived ranking within congregations. (You get removed but YOU? counseled only. after all, you donated how much to build this hall?)

  And (drumroll please) my absolute favorite regional / westcoast scandal:

  Don't Buy A Home, Armaggedon Is Coming! (circa 1975, back when houses were $34,000 in West Hollywood).
